Skills Center School of Excellence

Please join us for BREAKFAST WITH SANTA!

Saturday, December 17th from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Charter School of Excellence-Skills Center, located at 1309 French St.  Erie, PA 16501.

Santa and his helpers will host a variety of fun Christmas activities including a hot breakfast, crafts, movies, story corner, and pictures with good ol’ St. Nick himself.

Event pricing:

  • Breakfast – $5.00 per person (Children under 2 eat free)
  • Photos with Santa – $2.00 each

The menu will include:

  • Scrambled eggs
  • Bacon
  • Sausage
  • Hash browns
  • Orange slices
  • Juice/Milk/Coffee/Hot Chocolate

The Skills Center wants to focus on the needs of the student! Our intake process assesses reading and math skills, career interests, career aptitude, learning aptitude, social aptitude and academic readiness.

The Charter School of Excellence, The Skills Center provides job training for students as part of their regular education, allowing them the opportunity to jump-start their career – all at no cost to the student. Research for local and regional employers and business leaders produced the outcome relative to the demand for exceptional work ethic. The Skills Center focuses on teaching and then demanding such work ethic for our students. We offer training programs in the following industries:

  • Hotel services – such as laundry, housekeeping, food preparation and service
  • Culinary services
  • Maintenance services
  • Media and music production
  • 3D art and animation
  • Graphic design
  • Screen printing
  • Supervisory experience

Get the skills and certification needed to land entry-level jobs right out of high school.
Students will learn the skills needed to start a career with hands-on training including how to work well with others, and understanding operations and procedures. Plus, we will provide this blended learning experience for students needing a flexible schedule. This approach allows students to successfully complete graduation requirements while working around other work or family needs.

Our program works
The Skills Center features staff that has been specifically trained in evidence-based support skills in order to provide students with the social skills necessary to perform and excel in the workplace.
