The Charter School of Excellence is proud to offer many courses in the art field. At CSE, you have the opportunity to take classes in fine arts and ceramics, where you will be introduced to color theory, drawing, and painting, as well as 3D and 3D design. If you are more interested in digital design, you can take classes in graphic design, using the Adobe family of applications to explore the world of digital art.
Students at the Charter School of Excellence have the opportunity to explre a variety of art and design courses. They can take courses in fine arts, allowing them to experience drawing, painting, color theory, ceramics and more.
Beyond fine arts, they may also take classes in graphic design, using Adobe software to produce digital art, while learning the fundamentals of 2D design. They will learn how to create digital images and focus on layout, communication and composition.
Students can combine their art and design skills with the technical skill of filmmaking in a course on animation, exploring hand-drawn and stop-motion animation, while also learning basic video editing and sound techniques.
For those students who would like to put all of their multimedia skills to the test, CSE has a dynamic Media Arts program. This course teaches the fundamentals of film and video production while giving students the experience of creating a weekly student news program.
Visual arts aren't the only art form offered at CSE. Students can start with the basics, learning to play piano and to read, write, compose and improvise music, but can quickly move on to more. Our digital music lab will give students the chance to learn basic practices and techniques in audio recording and music production and will explore the fundamentals of electronic, computer-generated, and synthesized music. Using professional-grade programs, students can also see how music is used in media, creating soundtracks and adding effects to balancing music and dialogue, all in an effort to see how music can influence an audience's emotional response.
