English Language Development

The purpose of the Charter School of Excellence English Language Development Program (ELD) is to assist non-native speakers of English in acquiring sufficient language proficiency and the independent learning strategies to become successful participants in the community.

Building Language Proficiency

The ELD Program is committed to sustaining instructional excellence through collaborative professional support, continuous monitoring of the ELD Program curricula and student services, and integration of appropriate educational technology into learning and instruction.

All three locations of the Charter School of Excellence offer English Language Development programming.  This program allows students to be in small class sizes based on the level of language proficiency.  There is a focus on reading comprehension and vocabulary as well as cultural orientation in the local community.  The goal is to provide a small learning environment and welcoming climate for students to succeed.
