The Charter School of Excellence believes that all kids can learn and be successful in the right environment with programming to meet their needs. The CSE philosophy is based on relationship building among students, parents, and educators as well as community partners.
As a result, the goal of the Dual Enrollment program at CSE is for students to consider a path to post-secondary education options for their future that they may have not thought possible. There are two types of dual enrollment programs at the Charter School of Excellence, one for our middle school students and then another for our high school students.

The middle school dual enrollment program is for 8th grade students at the CSE Discovery Center to take high school classes at the CSE Skills Center. The goal is to recruit, attract, and prepare CSE middle school students for a smooth transition to high school while also cultivating a middle school group of students to think beyond high school. The middle school students take one high school course each semester of the 8th grade year.
Upon successful completion of high school courses, students would be afforded high school credit that is applied to the CSE transcript. As a result, students have progressed with high school courses at an accelerated rate allowing availability in the high school schedule for these students to take high school to college dual enrollment courses in the 11th and 12th grades. The intent of this program design is for CSE middle school dual enrollment students to be the priority for high school to college dual enrollment
The high school to college dual enrollment program is for CSE students at the Leadership Center or the Skills Center based on criteria such as grade level, attendance, cumulative GPA, and intent on pursuing post-secondary education. The high school to college dual enrollment program is designed for students to reach their full potential while getting the opportunity to take college classes on a university campus.
High school to college dual enrollment students need to be willing to meet the post-secondary academic expectations related to syllabus requirements, content and depth of academic teachings, rigor and pace of readings, assignments, papers, and exams. The high school to college dual enrollment program is free for students who meet the criteria and CSE will pay the enrollment fee and book(s).
