Welcome to our School Counseling Department! The CSE School Counselors and their teams provide each student with the tools and resources they need to be successful in their high school career and the pursuit of their post-secondary goals. We want nothing more than for you to be successful both in our school and beyond.

Working with students' families and the community is an integral part of CSE's efforts in supporting our students.
This year, there are new state regulations regarding the filing of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is required to be completed by all graduating seniors, starting with the Class of 2027. If students are not planning to attend a post-secondary school or complete the FAFSA, they (students and parents) will be required to sign a FAFSA opt-out form, which will be provided to seniors through their school counselor. You can find more information about this new regulation here.
The FAFSA form will become available in the fall of 2026 (usually by October). To ensure you don't miss out on state or school-specific funds, it is highly recommended to file as early as possible. State and college deadlines often vary, usually between February and April, and many aid programs award funds on a first-come, first-served basis.
This year, CSE will be hosting our college and career fairs on October 15 and March 10. These events will be held at the Skills Center in a morning session, followed by an afternoon session at the Leadership Center.
*Please see the School Counselor for fee waivers and assistance with registration for SAT and ACT exams. Students should register for their SAT and ACT AT LEAST 6 weeks prior to test dates.

The ASVAB is a free, optional, assessment that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military.
Scores will be provided to students along with a workshop to help them understand their score. This test, and the workshops, are offered at both the Skills and Leadership Center every school year.
