The Charter School of Excellence is so proud to win the 35th Annual Bread Box Award! The Bread Box awards showcases the different fundraisers and food drives that organizations hold in honor of the food bank.
Awards are presented in nine different categories from elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, college, individuals, religious organizations, organizations, small and large businesses.
Lisa Snyder, a teacher at the Skills Center, runs CSE's yearly food drive, which dates back to 2008. During the food drive, small competitions are held in each building amongst homerooms. In addition, a larger competition between locations is held and in 2025, the Skills Center prevailed.
It was all for a good cause, and over 2,200 pounds of food were donated in 2025 by the entire Charter School of Excellence.
We'd also love to recognize our own Madison Maurice (Class of 2019), for coordinating this wonderful event in her role with the Second Harvest Food Bank!
